My name is Gabe and I’m the owner of Tennessee Tidy Maids. If you peak around the site a bit and start getting a feel for who we are, you will quickly see that I am obsessed with two things; tidiness and convenience. After struggling to find a good fit for house cleaning here in Williamson County, where I live, I decided there had to be an easier and better way to get great service without the hassle.
I was further baffled by the tremendous growth in the area and complete lack of convenient options for house cleaning. My entrepreneurial spirit was piqued. We have had a few folks that did good work in the house, but it was just incredibly frustrating to communicate with them on the phone, get random texts, and even e-mails to coordinate a single house cleaning session. On top of that, when looking for new options, I was frustrated with getting these same e-mails and phone calls a day after I was ready to book with estimates and what I would call “re-estimates”. Some even wanted to come out a day in advance to survey the house before providing an estimate. How inconvenient is that?
Let me back up just a little bit. I am a transplant and have been a transplant before – too many times. Until a couple years ago, I was serving in the Army. Over the course of 12 years, I lived in 5 different states (two of them twice), with a few deployments in between. I have always had house cleaning whether we rented or owned. Moving was a regular thing for my wife and I. We always did move-out cleanings (and even move-in cleanings), and as time went on and my wife was working, we received more regular house cleaning as well. It was never as hard as it is here in the Southern Nashville suburbs (us brave folk who fight I65 every morning) as it was through all those states and all those moves to find someone that was reliable, did a great job, and was easy to schedule. So – convenience is a must for me starting Tennessee Tidy Maids. We live in a connected world and it follows that you should be able to do everything in managing your house cleaning online without having to go to one of the large and over-charging names out there (and even they can’t fully automate the pricing, scheduling, booking, and paying cycle).
Let me back up just a little bit more. Before serving in the Army I was Cadet at West Point for four years. For those of you that don’t know much about the Military Academy, let me just sum up four years of living in the absolute highest standard of cleaning humanly possible. While a typical Friday night for a college student would be to spend that time hanging out with their friends or playing games, my roommates and myself were literally staying up all night to get ready for our 6am white glove room inspection, just like in the video below. Hint: no one passes their first inspection of the day, even after an all-niter.
Some of the stuff not on video there was shinning shoes (even the ones you wouldn’t wear the next day), using this horrible substance called Brass-O to shine individual brass pieces on your various uniforms, and learning how to do “hospital-corners” in the way you made your bed. So yes, after doing that for four years, you could say that I appreciate being Tidy too.
As always, we would love to earn your business. If you have made it this far, go ahead and use promo code BlogPost1 when you check-out to receive 10% off your first cleaning. We look forward to seeing you and your much tidier home soon!
